2 Your Google profile: we build it, you feed it

Every yard sign, every neighbor, every Facebook tag sends that person to look you up on Google. The profile (name, category, services, area, photos, map position) is handled by us. There are only two things that only you can do.

What you do
At the end of every job, tell the customer in person that a text is coming so they can leave you a review. When you finish, put their name and phone into your marketing form (it is on your links page): the text with the link goes out by itself.
What it brings
74% of people only read reviews from the last three months. Old reviews stop counting. That is why you ask on every job, not one time.Source: BrightLocal 2026, survey of 1,002 adults
Time it takes
30 seconds per job. The system sends the link by itself.
Today
Tomorrow, on the first job you finish, say the review line and put the customer through your form. Your system already answers the reviews.

1. Ask for the review in person, before you get in the truck

English, say it in personI'm really glad you're happy with it. I'm going to send you a quick text with a link to leave us a Google review. It takes thirty seconds and it helps a small business like mine a lot. If you want, we can open it right here and I'll show you where to tap.
Spanish, for Spanish-speaking customersMe da mucho gusto que haya quedado contento. Le voy a mandar un mensajito de texto con un enlace para dejarnos una reseña en Google. Son treinta segundos y a un negocio como el mío le ayuda muchísimo. Si quiere, lo abrimos aquí mismo y yo le muestro dónde darle.

Timing is everything: if they do not pull out the phone while you are still standing there, it almost never happens later. Your system sends the link by itself. Your job is to tell them face to face.

Never offer a discount in exchange for a review. Google bans it. When Google catches it, it wipes out all the reviews at once and can flag the profile. You ask for reviews, you do not buy them.

2. Every review gets an answer, and your system writes it

89% of people expect the owner to answer, and 80% are more likely to hire a business that answers all of them. Your system answers every review, good or bad, with your name and in your tone, the same day. You just read them. For a bad one, the answer does not fight: it apologizes and offers to fix it, and you make the call. If you do not like an answer, text us and we change it.

What your Slate system already does: the profile built right, the photos you send us, the profile watched, the review link that goes out by itself after every job, and the answer to every review. You never have to touch the profile.
